I voted for July 2003 just because I think Kate will finish the album sometime next week, jump into a time machine, and retroactively release the album a couple of years ago.

Makes perfect sense to me.
But what if she met herself coming back? My understanding of temporal mechanics is that 'like' should never encounter 'like' outside of their respective time streams, or terrible things can happen.
We could all wake up tomorrow and find that it was Tori Amos who released "The Kick Inside" way back in 1978..
(As you can see, I am a devotee of the Ray Bradbury school of physics)
