A serious question for all members:
Would you like an ok album now, or a fantastic one in three years time?
I know what I prefer. (Thinking of Kate)

Kate would not release an "OK" album. In three years I'll switch alligiance to Beth Orton if Kate doesn't come through..

It would be mighty sad to lose you as a fan Al. Maybe you could be "reeled in" again!

Kate would not release an "OK" album. Agreed. Even Kate's "worst move" is far superior to most of her music peers. As she's so unusual/unique, she doesn't have categories in which she has to fit and this means that, unlike many other artists, her 'different' is normal and, even if it takes a little time to understand, is always superb. Now that we've seen the London Metropolitan Orchestra is involved, does it mean that it's unlikely the album will be a jazz album as was suggested a while back?

Michael Kamen and Kate have worked with LMO before. ("Brazil for example) In that only the string section is being used, does not give me enough clue as to which direction she is headed. Jazz is still not out of the question. More of an indication is the jazz percussionist, Peter Erskine, whom has already laid his tracks down. I also think that as muscians and singers get older and wiser, they tend to get more comfortable with the intricate and laid back qualities of jazz. We'll likely see a fusion of influences...... A tapestry of textures and cultures. Kate has remarked about the beauty of Billie Holiday's work in the past. Also, her more mature voice may lend itself to a 'smokier' delivery. Perhaps a couple of "Portishead" style songs (only better and more original?) I doubt we'll hear any "Violin" or "Pull Out The Pin" type numbers. But I bet we will be surprised nonetheless. :

This poll gets easier the longer you wait to vote.

And "When It's Perfect' , however cheesy an answer, would be correct regardless.

I put september because October wasn't there LOL. I remember when The Sensual World came out which was around the end of September beginning of October. Also I think The Red Shows came out around that time too. I know I was walking to work in the dark listening to it on my walkman.I think Moments of Pleasure came out near christmas time. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well Spring looks unlikely now... Anyone like to change their vote? Yeah, and I'll bet the death of Michael Kamen has caused her to wait. Maybe a tribute song? I'm guessing late October now. Maybe a holiday or family tune as well.

To be honest with you all,I don't care when it's released, just as long as it is released.

I have some sympathy with Paul's view - as long as it happens is more important than when it happens. I don't anticipate problems with quality - KB won't wheel it out of the garage unless she's entirely happy about it.
I don't know about the Michael Kamen factor. If the album was complete with songs she cared about, she might be unwilling to shelve one so as to make space for a tribute. On the other hand, she wears her heart on her sleeve musically, and a tribute song is exactly what you would expect of her.

Whenever Mrs. Bush thinks it is ready, which means when she thinks it is perfect.
I can imagine that she somewhat feels the presure of "you are as good as your last album" especially if the last album is a while ago and the expectations are extremely high...
