I'm afraid 'when it's perfect' (To Kate), has been the hold up. That would be the easy answer. I chose September 10th 2003 because I think the project is completed and EMI will want to release it on their previously announced date.
I agree that Kate would be the one to 'pull the string' However. I believe the project is finished and they,ve agreed on a date. EMI knows her well enough not to have announced a date without her approval.
You know, as much as I'd like to see a new Kate Bush album released, there is a part of me that is concerned. Not about the quality of the album itself... of course not, but that it might be the last we will ever hear.
After The Red Shoes, no one thought it might take this long for a new album. Now, we are aware that she can wait this long for new material, and may just retire completely!
I felt the same way about a new Peter Gabriel album. Since 1992, there had been talk about a new album, even the title "Up" for the last several years. Now that it's here, I want another! At his concert, a fan shouted at a pause "Don't leave us again!" and he promised he wouldn't, but I don't know how much of that I believe.
Well, not to be pessimistic here, but does anyone understand what I am saying? I think it might mean the end of something, not a beginning!?
"It is only in uncertainty that we are naked and alive." Peter Gabriel
I know what you're saying, as painful as it may be But I read somewhere that when little Bertie goes to school, she's gonna have a lot of free time suddenly on her hands. Will she record a new new album?
I do think, though, that she's taking so long partly because, if this is her last record, she wants to go out with a BANG. But, hey, 8 CDs is quite an achievement for anyone!
She can't bring a CD out now and then go out with a bang. It's been so long and WHEN this new album comes out she's gonna be introduced to a whole new generation of people aswell as her old faithful fans (and I don't literally mean old). How unfair would it be on the new fans. And - erm... I've never experienced her being in the limelight yet.
