"Too late"! I suppose she doesn't want to be doing a Marlene Dietrich and just 'speaking' her way through her songs. Imagine at 80; "Out on the windy, and wiley... moors, we'd roll, and fall, in green..." Doesn't bear thinking about.

OK, just for fun ~
Why don't you tell us how your 'new' Kate Bush tour would go?
Maybe just the songs you'd like to hear, or even a blueprint of the show.. Throw in any thoughts on musicians, physical movement, video support, guest cameos, staging etc.
I would be fascinated to see what some of her most devoted admirers come up with..

Why don't you tell us how your 'new' Kate Bush tour would go? Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but I wouldn't mind just seeing her play solo. On the old piano. I think that unadorned Kate would still be quite 'theatrical' enough. I mean this is Kate Bush we are talking about! As for songs - hmm, well. This Woman's Work Song of Solomon The Kick Inside The Coral Room Suspended In Gaffa Cloudbusting .... for starters. Knowing Kate, she'd probably mostly want to do new songs - I can't really see her busting out a lot of tunes from TKI, Lionheart or Never For Ever (or even "The Dreaming" or HOL). On the hand, if she's going to do an all-singing, all-dancing spectacular then she might want to consider some of the old stuff. I could imagine some spectacular choreography to songs like "Night of the Swallow" and "Get Out of My House". --Paul--

Cheers Barry.
Neo, of course nobody believes that it's actually going to happen, but good God man - here's your chance to dream..
Will comment myself, but I'm keeping my powder dry until I've worked out what I'd really want to see!

Sorry Adey, I was thinking about it. I really don't believe she'll tour again. It would be awful if she was unhappy with the experience, I'd feel somehow guilty as a fan and she seems such a nice person she shouldn't be made to feel pressure to do it. I don't think I'd even go if given tickets! Like watching a bug that knows it's under a microscope. Uncomfortable.
Anyway, my choices:
(the snippet of Director's Cut Rubberband Girl has been described as pub band style - that's what I'd have in mind with a few songs below but I can't imagine much different to the album versions for the most of the others)
Joanni - big lead in Strange Phenomena The Dreaming - with boys choir Hammer Horror - pub band All we ever look for Pi Constellation of the heart - pub band Night scented stock - choir only Babooshka - pub band Reaching out - quiet piano solo Leave it open Cloudbusting - with strings as original Wow - piano solo Song of Solomon L'amour looks something like you Eat the music - with steel band
I like eat the music and I think it would jolly up the end of the evening quite nicely.
Mmm, that was fun.

Mmm, that was fun. ^ me like Mine would look like this: Fruitopia jingles on a loop as preamble during the crowd gathering... Set 1: * Night of the Swallow with a small platoon of Uilleann pipes proceeding her entrance * Sexual Healing (since the pipes are still on stage) * Love and the Anger (with Dave Gilmore) * Sunset (w/ Gilmore again) * Dream of Sheep * Pull out the Pin (with "I love Life" the original recording as BV) * Deeper Understanding (with the Trio Bulgarka) * Rocket's Tail (while the Trio is still on stage) * And So is Love * Sensual World * This Woman's Work * Suspended in Gaffa Intermisson - Oxygen B-12 and milk for Ms Bush to energize and sooth her throat... ... 'Maybe a power nap. One act from a Cirque du Soleil small troupe, performing to original recordings of...Eat the Music, Kite, Strange Phenomenon, Wedding List, James and the Cold Gun, (long version) Set 2: * The Fog (full orchestra) * Medley: Waking the Witch - Houdini - Get Out of My House. * Mother Stands for Comfort * Medley: How to be Invisible - Joanni - Pi * Medley of Sky of Honey * The Rest of her new releases (now that we are almost sated) * finale Wuthering Heights * encore: a medley: Cloudbusting with Japanese strings in the beginning and joined by a massive marching band. Thunder claps signal the band to march off stage and to start Running up that Hill with a remaining drum corp...Exit stage left with drums escorting her exit... It would be good to only do 3 concerts in Great Britain (like the Hammersmith Odean tour of life...'film them all and edit all three for the rest of us on video. The additon of Peter Gabriel and some of her tradional Irish arrangements could be added as studio productions along with her new video material. I would like to hear Steve Gadd and Peter Erskine alternate on drums. Gilmore, Clapton, and Danny McIntosh could cover guitars and I would trust Kate's choices on the rest of the team (since she's used these guys before as well) BTW, I know that this is a fantasy set - 'cos' she would not break up the suite on "Sky of Honey" among other medley suggestions.

REVISED EDITION
Here's the show I'd like to see - or the bare bones of it anyway. I must allow KB the final say and to fill in the gaps!
"The Aerial Show" by Kate Bush..
Musicians:
Stuart Elliot - Drums Vinnie Colaiuta - Drums Gary Brooker - Hammond Organ Jason Rebello - Piano and Synths Danny McIntosh - Guitar David Gilmour - Guitar Del Palmer - Bass John Giblin - Bass Paddy Bush - Acoustic instruments Kate Bush - Grand piano & Yamaha CS80 synth BVs - The queue of high status applicants ran half way down the street.. Adey - Nylon string guitar & Synths (if she'll have me)
(with Orchestral and Choral augmentations, arranged by Paul Buckmaster)
5 very special musical guests..
Visuals: Scenic Projections of Domestic and Landscape Settings
part 1: "A Sea of Honey"
1) Rubberband Girl - An explosive start, performed uptempo and heavy with Kate spinning like a top as she groans her rubberband moans..
2) Get Out of My House - Kate striding around in a state of manic distress. Then she is hiding in the projected lounge set as she is menaced by her musicians..
3) Houdini - with Kate in Rosabel costume, singing alongside 1st guest musician, Eberhard Webber on double bass. A faceless male figure in dinner jacket climbs from a Chinese water torture tank and approaches her slowly. It becomes apparent that he will never reach her..
4) Night of the Swallow - peformed with Kate on the piano and joined by 2nd and 3rd guest musicians Davey Spillane and Nigel Kennedy on uillean Pipes and violin respectively..
The stage becomes dark and the surface is overlaid with dry ice. The backdrop is a starry night sky. We hear a montage of transmissions from spacecraft, submarine sonar and ships horns. A fine spotlight picks out the head of Kate Bush raised above the ice/mist:
5) And Dream of Sheep &
6) Watching You Without Me are both performed by Kate from the 'water'.. She is joined by Spillane and Kennedy who are in a boat of sorts..
7) Jig of Life
On 2 side stages a small orchestra and a male voice choir are revealed under new blue lights..
8) Hello Earth.. as the ice/mist drifts away and the stage becomes blindingly lit.. Kate ascends slowly from the stage. The musical climax fades away with the recorded voice of John Carder Bush, reading the Tennyson lines from 'The Holy Grail' "Wave after wave, each mightier than the last 'til last, a ninth one etc"
During the applause, the choir is augmented by female voices for the finale to Part 1..
9) Cloudbusting (inc Constellation of the Heart).. every musician is on the stage and all are dressed as sinister Govt agents. Kennedy is playing the cello. Kate performs from on top of the rain machine which is recreated in close detail. She is dressed in Donald Sutherland garb and has her son by her side..
part 2: "A Sky of Honey" - next time from me folks..

How well thought out!! I knew you would have Dream of Sheep in yours too. I think I would like yours, Amy's and mine to be all performed in 3 different shows. Kate, are you listening? ...look forward to act II...

(with Orchestral and Choral augmentations, arranged by Paul Buckmaster) Excellent! In fact, I like your entire plan, but Paul Buckmaster is the icing on the cake. You are more than welcome to be part of the accompaniment too - I've also been known to imagine being included in a Kate show, or album. It's fanciful, but marvellous! --Paul--
