This thread is about the inspiration, the preparation and presentation of the food for the soul. Please enjoy the following links that have been inspirational to me and connected to the art rock and musicianship that is so much in the seasoning of Kate Bush's music:
"From the Beginning": An Art Rock classic by Emerson, Lake and Palmer that influenced my music and musical taste. I could have picked King Crimson, Moody Blues, Yes. or Rick Wakeman - but this number fits with a loose tie to Universal code and early synth usage.

"Why Should I Love You" - Kate Bush a collaborative effort (Prince would rework this ) - and it is a nod to "Peg" (Steely Dan - one of my top three fav's...Kate and Weather Report being the 2 other):

"The Making of Peg". This process is what impressed Kate so much about Steely Dan. She has a similar approach in picking her musicians. This one is said to have heavily influenced "Why Should I Love You:

"Aja" - This song uses Steve Gadd on drums. He was mentioned earlier on the EXIV board. I was going to include a song from "Gaucho" (Kate's favorite Dan album - but she did not specify (@ Gaffaweb) which track. And in that Tannis posted one earlier from the album ( ) I will go with some nice percussion and instrumental backbone. Since I can't work Weather Report into the list, this will have to do for the jazz fusion influence. But please check out the link Tannis posted earlier (Joni and Jaco) Jaco Pastorius being in Weather Report during their heyday. The other player in the rhythm section was drummer Peter Erskine, who played on "Aerial" for Kate.

"We Are Here" - Hank Majors (I'd like to take full credit for this but I can't) See if you see the progression from the first to last selection on this play list - both lyrically and musically...with evolution of course.
