I love this playlist. And So Is Love is a song that has also meant a lot to me - I almost included it on my previous playlist, but forgot. But the message of how inextricable love is from sorrow, and the way we love and live is tied up with so much grief and tenderness, is so powerful. It reminds me of what Joseph Campbell mentions in 'The Hero With A Thousand Faces' as the 'germinal paradox of being, or something like that. "All life is sorrowful. But life must be!" Except in this song, it's love that must be. Love as the highest and most undying thing of all. I enjoyed End of The Innocence, The Way It is, and Lifetime Piling Up all very much. I will definitely come back here and listen again - though I don't feel I know enough about the songs right now to comment too deeply. I enjoyed them and was touched by them nonetheless. And The Morning Fog is so perfect - the line "I love you better now" works so well, as it tells of a love that has been washed clean and endured disaster. A love that has broken through sadness to an all-pervading joy. Jig Of Life speaks to me of the way memory works, the way our lives move on, the many people they are entwined with... it shows the neverending tidal toss and flow and tug of life, and yet also promises a moment kept in a safe place, I think. It also reminds me, of the way family and tradition pulls on the soul, and yet also the need to break free and come into one's own in love and inspiration. All in all, thank you.

I am really glad that you enjoyed it. The inspiration was easier than posting the links. Kate's early career included a "Tour of Life" (which Adey attended at least once - and wouldn't have been great to see her so unbridled and energetic...the video is great ) You can almost chronicle an entire lifetime of emotion and wisdom in her songs. This playlist was a sample of that range. The more I try to create and learn the more I begin to see the value of others. Especially one lovely person.

They all worked for me, though. And you can see the distillation of inspiration, love, and wisdom of a lifetime in Kate's work - as you can, I think, in the work of many true artists. It's so lovely that that experience can be shared through art.

^ Thank you for this playlist. I really enjoyed all of these selections, and the sentiment behind them.
