So I heard KOTM once on WXRT who I knew would embrace the album. ONCE! Shame on WXRT!!! They were listing the best of 2005 and never even mentioned Moby, who they have been playing the F*** out of, let alone Kate. I've been on Chicago radio Kate patrol for a month now. On my way home from my parent's house I flicked through the stations I thought might play her, thinking WXRT would be the only one. There is a new station here who's catchphrase is "We play anything". Anything? I have heard a relatively impressive diversity but nothing I haven't heard before. BUT I TUNED IN AND THEY PLAYED MRS. BARTOLOZZI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry I doubted them--they really do play anything! I am very stoked to hear Kate on a station that I wouldn't think would play her at all let along Mrs. Bartolozzi!!!! Maybe she will get attention in the USA after all...

I'm probably the only one here who knows about XRT, and I am pretty surprised. When I first got TRS, my husband thought he knew Top Of The City because they would play it on XRT. They were aways pretty unusual, but maybe they have even sold out now. Did the play all of Mrs.B, or just a radio edit, since it is so long? I do think that's a bizarre choice if you are trying to sell her to an American audience.

No, XRT is still the same. (Poi Dog Pondering and Little Feat every freaking hour. Is XRT getting kickbacks from those bands or what? ) Perhaps they have been playing a lot of Kate and I somehow just keep missing her. I only listen to the radio in the car. As far as I could tell it was the album version of Mrs. B, but I just caught the last half of it. I came in at "It's just your shirt hanging on the washing line" I was shrieking in my car I couldn't believe it! That is the last song I would expect to hear on the radio! Especially not on XRT!!

Unfortunately, radio stations here do not play anything other than pop or country. I cannot walk into a music shop and remotely come close to finding any of her albums. Worst of all, people down here have no clue that She even exists.

May I ask are you re-building/restoring or relocating after your terrible troubles last year? I've had a busy winter so far. Luckily, I haven't had the unfortunate activity of rebuilding. I've only had some busted windows and a leaking ceiling. Good thing I didn't live on the top floor as the tenants there had their roofs blown away! I've lost my job but my husband's making good enough money to support my family. No troubles here!

Let's all hope that 2006 bring a more peaceful year, and at the very least, a more temperate season.
