Not sure if this is the right thread but I just noticed on the BBC website that "King Of The Mountain" entered the UK singles chart at #4 today.

Good news - I wonder just how far it will go?
Too bad that the saccharin wall paper of Westlife is likely to forestall a no 1 hit, but you just can't fight those hordes of 9-16 year olds with paper round money to burn..
However, even after 12 years away, it looks as though KoTM is going to be Kate's highest chart placed single release since the venerable Wuthering Heights, outperforming RUTH & Babooshka, in chart placing - if not actual sales. Now I admit to buying 10 copies and I bet I'm not the only one of us with an obsessive urge to keep buying the record.. (!)

(RUTH peaked at # 3, if I'm correct)

Perceptive review of Ariel from the normally scathing (though not on kate Bush) Andy Gill: enjoyment.independent.co.uk/music/reviews/article324459.eceAnd did anyone in the UK listen to the special edition of Front Row on R4 yesterday? (7.15). I was going to put Ariel on the top of my Christmas list but listening to some of those songs I'm not sure I can wait! Kate reveals the slow and grueling process of writing a double album and how she prefers to work in silence to compose her ideas, rather than immersing herself in other people's work. This sounds very promising. This is a pretty unmissable interview guys, so be sure to catch the repeat on Sunday or use the BBC 'Listen Again' service: www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/frontrow/index.shtml

Thanks for the link. It is encouraging to see such glowing reviews come in. However, it seemed quite apparent that Mr Gill was itching to use 'domesticity' in his description. ;D

The Detroit Free Press' review in today's paper was decidedly mixed...but it still got 3 out of 4 stars. Go figure. If you want to read it, they seem to be a couple of days behind in posting such things, so check it out at their website on Tuesday. www.freep.comclick on entertainment, then reviews blessed be.

Did anyone else have trouble finding this? After much wading, I gave up. FYI for other link posters - you may right-click on the actual page you wanted linked. If you post that url, then we can go directly to the page.

Thanks Chrisb, for the reminder that I could pick this interview up on BBC radio player.
All those who commented positively were right.. it's a great interview and revealing in a way that others so far haven't been.
