I thought it might be easier and a better resource to post new articles or updates here. We can discuss them all individually, still, on threads. Here's a comprehensive article from the Sept 25 Independent: click here

Great idea - maybe make it a sticky thread?
'The Independent' article is actually from 2nd September, but thanks for the link!
Mat, that MySpace link is fab! And "King of the Mountain" starts to play whne you go there, how brilliant. Is it official or just something someone has set up..?

13 tracks on 2 CDs, abit dissapointing. But i guess its better than 8 which is being heavily rumoured at the moment.

If you want you can listen til wednesday on BBC2 the new single King of the mountain. Here the link. www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/bruce/playlist_wednesday.shtmlSong begins at 1:38 (top left side). I am a bit perplex about what I heard. Horrific begining. Nice refrain. Good drum partition. Nice guit riffs. She should have consulted me. I would have written a hit-single for her., Irgendwo in der Tiefe gibt es eine Stimme. I understand that she wont breach out like in The Big Sky but this seems a bit lame to me. Reminds me a bit The sensual world. I was happe to see her after this album releasing Eat the music... The flux of energy was stronger then again. Kate, dont be sad we still love you very much and apreciate your efforts. If any tour might be planned pleaaaaaze dont forget to play the classics. WH. BSk. R up that hill, and why not Mna Na hEireann. That is a master peace of yours.

Thanks Sto' for the track listing. I have some ideas about the possible influences that I will explore on another thread.

That track listing has the ring of authenticity to me. It certainly fits with what we already knew about the album from comments previously made by musicians on the project.

13 tracks on 2 CDs, abit disappointing. But I guess its better than 8, which is being heavily rumoured at the moment. To an old prog rocker like me, used to songs that last whole album sides, 13 numbers is positively extravagant.. On this occasion, I won't be thinking "never mind the quality, feel the width.."

Could also be that the songs were too long to fit on one CD. So instead of having one disc at 79 mins, and the other at 10, it made sense to have half and half. But, take Pink Floyd's The Wall into consideration. Originally a 2 LP album, then later released on two CDs. With a little bit of trimming, you could get it onto one CD (It clocks in just over the 80 min mark, but not over) but instead they chose to go for the 1 record=1 CD option.

The Cure actually took a song off of their 1987 double album to make it one CD for "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me" I thought that was odd, to get more on vinyl than cd...
