Hmm, I'll take this uncredited article with a pinch of salt if you don't mind..
The thought of Kate releasing 2 albums in a year is as unlikely to me as the thought of Kate Bush in performance at the National Exhibition Centre Arena. I certainly won't be losing sleep at the possibility of either occurrence..
On the subject of live performance and given that the possibility of a tour is realistically a non-starter, I still think the answer is a pre-recorded song & movement TV spectacular. Recorded over multiple preformances by Kate over as many days as it took for her to get it right or to feel comfortable with. Perhaps before a specially invited, hand picked audience, or perhaps not. Everything under control - musical and vocal re-takes as necessary, enough time for costume/clothing/make up changes and in a venue entirely suited to her ambitions. And all later available on a wide screen, surround-sound DVD for later repeated viewing. Perhaps a limited special edition DVD set too, with interviews and special packaging personally signed by Kate herself..
By not touring, we are deprived of Kate's physcial presence and her considerable dance/movement skills. A TV spectacular such as I've outlined, would surely be the next best thing and would surely be better than a rehash of the basically dodgy Line, Cross & Curve music film concept.

Surely you cannot deny that she does technically have plenty of material to record and release 2 albums next year? Well, I would presume she has plenty of material because she's been away for 12 years. Yes, 7 of those were spent bringing up Bertie but either way, still plenty of time to deliver the goods.

I asked a hypothetical question here last week, about how much material people thought that Kate had stock-piled. I don't doubt that there is likely to be a considerable amount, but do doubt that Kate would use 'off the shelf' material to fill something as important and precious to her, as a new album.. As appalling as it sounds, I've also previously speculated that the new album may also be her last 'official' recording - which is an horrendous thought..

Metallica did that with their Reload album (leftover material from their Load album) and look what happened to them (Saint W@nker, anyone? )

I have read the interview in Mojo which was released yesterday and when asked 'Any chance of the next album a bit sooner, please?' Kate replies 'Yeah, I thought I'd do two next year,' she laughs, 'two in one year. That would really surprise them, wouldn't it'. so, i wouldn't hold your breath. And as for a tour - definitely not! Get hold of a copy of Mojo if you can, the interview is a fab read. 10 pages long!

It is amazing what can happen when you are truly inspired, ask Prince! Kate darling, are you sure you can handle the energy?

I would laugh if she had made another album, and was just waiting. It'd be like, "I said I would, and you didn't believe me?"

Didn't Kate say there was no material left over from the "Aerial" sessions to put as b-sides?
Either that means she's a genius and everything she writes is a masterpiece, or she was very selective in what she recorded.
Or there's nothing left for 'Aerial' b-sides because the rest of the material is going on 2 more albums released this year....

she laughs, 'two in one year. That would really surprise them, wouldn't it'. I'd reply to her - not entirely, what about 1978? But then she'd probably give me one of her icy glares which reporters know so well, so I probably wouldn't...
