I would really appreciate if someone could confirm one way or the other if The Red Shoes was ever released on vinyl. I have found 7" singles, but not the full LP. I don't know if I'm looking for a needle in a haystack, or something that doesn't even exist!

If you come across an original UK vinyl release of The Red Shoes before me, will you let me know? Has to be a UK release. I'm fussy like that

Hey Xanadu, I just did a search on Amazon UK and found out TRS was released on vinyl. Unfortunately, they are out of stock. But hey, at least you know it exists somewhere in the world!

I used to doubt it's existence too, but Flea Fly posted a link here on one occasion, to a site advertising it. I've seen other adverts for it since. I'll check out Reddington's Rare Records in Birmingham for anyone interested in acquiring it. I'm not bothered about it myself, though I am looking forward to the arrival of my vinyl copy of Aerial. Unbelievably it seems to me, this will be the first vinyl LP recording I've bought since The Sensual World back in 1908..

Thanks guys. I figured one of you would have heard something about it. At least we have some idea that it did exist at some point. Too bad no one here has it to actually confirm it. That was a strange time for vinyl... digital age but not retro yet But, there is hope since I have come across 7" singles. We'll keep each other posted.

I did use to own 2 UK copies of The Red Shoes on vinyl but have sold them both. I still have for sale an Italian copy and a Russian boot though.

In the magnificent illustrated catalogue by Robert Godwin the item is mentioned as EMD1047 LP. It is in fact an UK printed copy ( I have mine signed by Kate at the 1994 Kate Bush Convention at Hippodrome- London, so I DO know it exist!) The russian copy is labelled N93 00722 ( ATR 30294) and is indeed a bootleg.

can we still get hold of Aerial on vinyl? I really wouldn't even know where to go to get it, I feel like an idiot but I only ever buy C.D., but I just have to have this. I've waited this long because other Bushey things got in the way. Thanks.

I've waited this long because other Bushey things got in the way. Thanks. I got mine from HMV in Bham City Centre - try your big Town branch or maybe Virgin.. My first copy came from EIL.com, but it was incomplete (the Sky of Honey abum was missing) so it had to go back). Try them as a last resort. At the risk of rubbing it in, I have to say that the vinyl package is fantastic. Heavy weight plastic and the booklet in full album size on photographic paper. Worth every penny of £16.99..

I'll have to second Adey on this. I was a little hesitant at first, since it was quite a bit $$ to part with on music I already owned. However, I got a great deal on it without the import costs of shipping and it was certainly worth it. Just think of how much you'd spend if she did tour and you bought tickets and a program (T-shirts and posters aside). Thankfully, we won't have that to worry about in the near future J/K so go with the vinyl. It is really impressive. I'd go with HMV or EIL, or Music Stack. Never had any trouble with these, but be sure to clearly check the feedback on Music Stack, don't choose any low fill rates or feedback percentages.

If she were to ever tour then I don't think that I'd have a bank balance, I would buy tickets for every show, I mean every show.

However, I have hoarded quite a balance in credit card "miles"... If it ever happens, I will definately make it to at least one show!
