There are some newly posted video performances on YouTube that are a mix of covers and original work. She has the most beautiful range and quality to her voice. I had heard clips before, but I had no idea! She is amazing. Adey - you must hear "Dream of Sheep" Zan - look up "Mercy Street" there. You'd think there were two people residing in her body. I'm going to be seeking much more from her. It has always been touted how much she sounds like Kate- and she can. But she almost sounds male in her more natural voice. She s truly a freak of nature and the most under rated vocal talent that I can think of. CLICK HEREFrom here select some others. Don't miss "Dream of Sheep: HEREEDIT - I do believe she could cover "Don't Give Up" and sing both parts!

Maybe from the website. I like "When The Rain Came Down" which is how I discovered her, and her cover of "Ashes to Ashes." I'll look for some more and comment. I'm glad you discovered her Al. She has a website... let me think... AHhh I've got it: www.auntiesocialmusic.com/ and www.smoe.org/ecto/ and here happyrhodes.org/She seems really in earnest and worth a look. I'd think you'd like her, Al.

^ Thank you Zan. I am about to check out the links. I have know of her for years. I must have gotten off on the wrong foot with her. 'A poor quality audio and the thought of her being a novelty or an oddity. I have much catching up to do.

Oh dear..
Now isn't this just wonderful?
And Dream of Sheep as performed by Kate, always brings tears to my eyes. Even with such a lo-fi recording and performed in the nervous white light of the stage, Happy's version provoked the same emotional response in me. Remarkable - as is her range, evidenced by her performance of Mercy Street.
This (she) is class, no doubt at all..
Thanks Al.

Maybe in support we should all get a CD from the website! Where to start? I've only listened online, and have a few songs here and there. Kevan, was it you who had a few albums? I can't remember just now.

Hey, you guys HAVE to watch her version of Here Comes The Flood on YouTube. It is not only one of my favorite Gabriel songs, but probably in my top 10 songs of all time! Such an incredible song... I always wanted to hear Kate sing it, but this is almost better, if that's possible! I always thought you'd love this song Adey, since we both feel the same about And Dream Of Sheep. Musically and lyrically seems like something you'd appreciate. Let me know what you think. Thanks for starting the discussion Al

I adore the intensity of the song, much like " Biko" in some respects. I look forward to catching Happy Rhodes' version in due course..

'Have Halloween obligations tonight.

I'd like to continue it tommorrow. 'Have Halloween obligations tonight. I wonder if young master Bertie is out trick or treating tonight? Just imagine Kate Bush loitering about at the bottom of your garden path, whilst you're busy ferreting out chocolate bars.. Man, how wierd would that be?

I only wish I had a garden path. ;D 'wonder what Bertie's costume would be? An EMI exec? Scary!

I can't remember just now. Yes indeed, I do have some Rhodes CDs. They vary quite a bit in style with the earlier ones being more folk-ish - these are my favorites. The later ones are interesting too. Definitely check out the samples!

If she's so happy, why the long face? (that's so tacky)

If she's so happy, why the long face? (that's so tacky) Har, har, Sven. One of the websites I posted says she's been called "Happy" since she was a baby, since she was always smiling, and legally changed her name years later.

If she's so happy, why the long face? (that's so tacky) Har, har, Sven. I actually find her very attractive. And although I did not want to claim responsibility for the pettiness, I'm not one to ignore an opportunity to express irony. ;D I saw an interview that validates this. Moreover it was her younger brother who started it by calling her 'happy baby' because he couldn't pronounce her name. ('have to check what that name was)
