I have a feeling that I might get flamed for this, but I've always felt that Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' was a bit overrated. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a really good album and I think he was a great songwriter; I'm just not sure if I think it's as great as everyone else seems to. Maybe I'm just missing something...

I like the album too but it's missing something, or has something added to it that shouldn't be there, that prevents it from really being interesting to me. OTOH, I've heard he was a nice guy and so on and since he died so young and not by suicide or drugs etc. there will be extra emphasis placed on his work - still, his most famous song is a cover... I think his best was still to come.

I only have his live album, but my best friend was in love with him. She even named her cat Grace after the album. She missed him live but her boyfriend went to the show. She was hosting a bachelorette party that night. When he got home from the show he praised, he said "Don't worry honey--you can catch him next time." And then he died. She used "Lilac Wine" so beautifully in one of her films. I'm not disagreeing with you. He was an exact copycat of his father. He was cool, but....
