Checked the link and was suprised at the distance between Kate Bush and the two closest artists, and the rest of them. Seems to imply that most (but certainly not all) Kate Bush listeners don't listen to much else.
Kool link!

It's strange: I checked twice yesterday and both times Tori was there - the first time in the upper right and the second in the lower right. I just checked the site and now Tori is upper middle. And yet when you were there she wasn't mentioned at all. Strange. I don't think it's all that accurate but I love the visuals and think it would make a great screensaver.

I'm surprised Happy Rhodes hasn't been discussed yet.
If you all are looking for someone who sounds like Kate Bush, Happy Rhodes is it. I'd probably mistake her for Kate Bush if I wasn't already too familiar with Kate Bush's work.

I'm surprised Happy Rhodes hasn't been discussed yet. You just haven't looked hard enough. BTW Welcome. I have known of her for ages; but just started getting in to her after seeing her perform on video @ Youtube. I love her voice and her trmendous range.

Nightwish's song "White Night Fantasy" is one of the best Kate tributes ever imo...even though the band's main songwriter has probably never heard her.

there are two australian female singers who get it quite alot. Coincidentally they are also both Kates. the first is Katy Steele of the band Little Birdy, who has a cute voice but the only real resemblance to KB is that she gets a bit high-pitched and screechy sometimes. youtube video below: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMcFmWZyV1Uthe second is an emerging artist, Kate Miller-Heidke. she's kindof quirky and gets into the vocal acrobatics which has drawn heaps of comparisons to our Kate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcOqr7CQDuQfor reference, i am obviously a HUGE KB fan but both of these girls give me the sh**s with their pretentious unoriginality.

There's a singer whom I've recently discovered that reminds me greatly of Kate- her vocal inflections on certain tracks are very much in the 'Lionheart' mould. The lady is called Sharon Den Adel, and she's the singer for a symphonic metal band called Within Temptation. Symphonic metal is entirely new to me (OK, so I'm an old fogey!) but it' snevertheless an interesting discovery. About the best way I can describe Within Temptation is to imagine Kate singing Enya and Clannad songs, covered by a heavy metal band, arranged by Wagner and backed with a symphony orchestra. A strange mix, true, but it works fantastically.

Tori who? ;D
I have a couple of her albums and she's obviously very talented and a brilliant pianist. But ... she doesn't move me like Kate does. Of course, almost nobody moves me like Kate does. There is no comparison!

I must admit, I haven't listened to a lot of Tori's work, only a couple songs here and there, but I really agree about it just not moving me like Kate's does... it just doesn't connect, for me. Kate's music has a real intensity, I think, almost a spiritual and archetypal quality, that makes her so brilliant. There are other musicians who I feel similarly about, but never quite to the same extent.

I don't think Tori Amos can ever match our Kate. The only artist who I find I like as much as Kate is one Suzanne Vega. No comparisons ever drawn, in fact they're close to opposites.

Kate Bush (Devon) and Tori Amos (Cornwall) both live in the SW England! ...

I suppose that is a similarity... I don't really see the comparisons, though.
