I don't know if any of you have seen Nelly Furtado's video for "Try" (her latest single here in the UK, at least), but there's a section near the end when she's singing "We are, we are..." where she's running through a crowd with a look of pain/panic on her face, trying to get to her man. There's then a shot of her hand through the crowd falling to the floor slowly.
Is it me, or is this almost identical to Kate's "Running Up That Hill"? It's very effective in both videos. It would be cool if Kate had inspired her though! Look out for it...

I haven't seen the video yet but I'll check it out and give you my opinion later. Stay Tuned...

I've just come across this thread when I was looking around the 'Videos' board. I don't recall ever reading this, but I remember Nelly Furtado... but particularly for 'I'm Like A Bird' and 'Turn Off The Lights'. I don't remember this song, or video. I want to see it now

Inevitably Sto.
An artist, once recognised, cannot be erased from the map of collective conciousness. There will be something of Kate, and a million other artists too, in anything that came after her.

I've never really noticed the similarities between the two. I myself used to compose lyrics to songs and record the notes from vocal arrangements. I'd let my friends listen in and they'd say... you know, that sounds so familiar! Could range from a simple riff from Louis Armstrong or perhaps Tori Amos some odd days. Guess that would explain my collective consciousness! Of course, it was never intentional on my part.
