thank you for trying, Al, but i'm still dissapointed that no other member checked this thread which is very important to me but i guess that the members here doesn't interested in other member's art of any form. i excepted more from the people on this board but i guess i was wrong. when i see that nobody else but you commented i lose interest in the whole forum and i don't check anymore new threads and posts and i don't participate in discussions because i'm so dissapointed. i guess that if the situation will continue i'll have to leave This thread hasn't been up that long so don't give up! Give us a chance too. I really want to listen to your works. However... Mat, I've tried downloading these links of yours twice unsuccesfully, I'm sure others did as well. What did you want us all to say? ...I'm very interested to hear, but it has not been made possible for me to do so. This is happening with me as well... apparently, my computer settings have been set incorrect for a while. It's affecting my computer's ability to download certain things. I can't even get MSN or AOL messenger properly and YIM is being an ass lately. May not be right away, but I really DO wanna listen!

If we all did, no one would ever share anything. We have all gone through the exact same feeling. You have to keep trying and be patient. There are not very many contributing members here, and even less that read from Leave It Open. I don't have much time, and try when I can. Finally able to hear the music Mat! Thanks so much for sharing. I also find it hard to comment on others art that I know. I really liked both pieces, but the first one is more my style. I like the sad, haunting sound it has, much like a chant. And the title really fits. The second is a lovely melody, and sounds much like the early Kate demos. The hebrew doesn't bother me, but in this recording, the vocal is very low and hard to hear over the piano. What is the song about, Mat? Be sure to post any other efforts and don't let them pass us. Be proud and remind us to check in! You're never ingored, maybe just missed in the pile of posts. ;D

By selecting the low-fi option I was finally able to hear your stuff.
Stick with it Mat - this is the start of something I'm sure. Interesting that you should tackle an a capella piece. I assume that NSS was your inspiration?
What equpiment do you use - seperate synth or GM synth on your sound card?
Keep at it..

Xan, i actually also think that "apetite" sounds like a early kate demo song, but like everything kate does, her demos are much better. as for the meaning of the lyrics, i didn't wrote them but a friend of mine and i don't really understood what's the meaning of it. i will try to translate them to you:
"apetite"
eating olives without seeds is like living a whole life without making any self examination the empty space that inside doesn't challenge the soul it doesn't give her meaning the hollow don't reduce itself for giving some space for the spirit he wants all for himself he isn't ready to compromise eating olives without seeds is like living whole lives without counting one minute of happiness or anguish
and adey, i used only my mic for the a capella piece and it wasn't inspired directly by NSS. i love a capella in general
