I wouldn't want to be a firefighter either. Would you have wanted to be one in New York on Sept 11 2001? Also, there seems to be a trend in Chicago for little kids to get hit by commuter trains. (I think we're up to 8 just this year already) My mom's friend's grandson got killed by one a month ago. (He had just gotten off the train, in town for his other Grandmother's funeral, didn't see or hear the cross train, double funeral ) Anyway, guess who had to scrape his remains off of the tracks--the firefighters. I feel faint thinking about it. What an appalling tragedy. I watched an incredible documentary about the work of the firecrews in the aftermath of the plane strikes on the Towers. It was made by 2 french brothers who were shadowing fire crews that day. It was an incredible piece - I dare say you've seen it. I have never been as moved by television as I was when I watched that. You just can't pay people in the emergency services enough. Yet they're the first to be hit when Govts decide it's time to pull in their belts.

What a strange thing that they just happened to be working on that at the time of the attack.

You've got to admit - being a suicide bomber is a sucky job. It falls next to last - right before kamikaze co-pilot.

Before I start a new thread, your post made me think of names of drinks. With that in mind, maybe we can keep this thread going. You should be good at this, and it will be interesting to see if these cocktail ( hi-balls? )names have crossed the pond. Post on or more mixed drinks and have people guess the ingredients. I'll start with one: Screamin' Orgasm.....

I used to know this. I went to bartending school. Orgasm I think suggests baileys and kaluha, and the screaming part is, uh bacardi 151? Just a guess.
Ever hear of this one? Slow screw against the wall

You got two of them slow=sloe gin screw= orange juice and Wall =? Is this the same as a "Long Slow Comfortable Screw Against the Wall"? If so add Vodka, Galliano and Southern Comfort to the mix. "Snakebite Shooter".......

Yes, but the alternating shots consist of licking salt from your date's belly button, and sucking a lemon from her ( in my case ) mouth. You pick.... That's one variation anyway.
