Yah, ok, I can dig this thread... I got a couple for you, but keep a bucket handy!! I've also had an ingrowing toe nail, not very nice but not too bad compared to distresses of others. I was lucky enough ( ) to have anaths, anest, pain relief( ), the only trouble with that was the doctor decided just to take out the toe and had nine attempts to freeze the thing, six of them hit the bone, now that hurt a bit. I've also been unfortunate enough to have had kidney stones (over about 7 months), that was the worst pain I can Imagine, It felt like having my side bitten out by a shark (well I think it did, never Actually having been bitten by a shark, or seen one in real life!). Any way it took 6 doctors and a 12 day stay in hospital to actually diagnose the problem. trouble was, by then the tube that leads from the kidney to, well shall we say for the sake of politeness, the outside world, had almost completely closed off and to avoid further complications I had what the doctors called a renal stent put in. Get the picture though, because the tube was so small the docs needed me to beable to move, so there I was, face down in a real time picture x-ray machine having has a local ana...pain relief. Great I hear you say, until you realise that the jab only took out the top layer of skin i'll leave the rest and the 15 minute op to your imagination. I sincerely wish you all the best of health... MM

My worst pain would have to be an abscess under a tooth. I was crying with the pain and it was always worse at night. Then the antibiotics kicked in and all was well.

I am curious as to what "pebble dashing" is. I assume it is the exposed aggregate. Your wisdom tooth story, pales though compared to mine. One of mine was impacted. The dentist, whom was a family friend reveals a hammer and chisel ( official 'dental instruments' of course), which I assumed to be a joke. No joke! He proceeded to hammer and ultimately broke my jar! The fragments of the molar were vacuumed away. He did give my Qualudes tho'

I am curious as to what "pebble dashing" is. A pebble dash wall is like a cement wall with loads of tiny little stones stuck to it all over

I broke my right arm without actually doing anything. How it happened isn't important. What? Cause it's important. We're dying to know how it happened if you didn't actually do anything. Did it just drop to bits? :::confusion::: Argh!!! I HATE dentists and the thought of that just makes me want to puke LoL We didn't think it'd be the NSEW type How?

have hurt myself before, intentionally, with a pair of scissors. And all I could think was how good it was at the time. Then I realized how stupid it was, and I haven't done it since. I have taught myself control, but I know it can be like a drug; addictive as Hell.

When i was a child, at about 10, i participated in a drama class during the summer vacation and in one of the breaks the other kids were running in the large stage where the class held and i joined the running too, and in some point i hit the wall and i saw bloud pouring down from my lips and i realised they were cut and my teachers saw that and washed them with water and then i went to the hospital and there a doctor sutured my lips. The all experience was very uncomfortable but now my lips are ok!

Ouch! Some sore stories in amongst this thread!
My most painful moment I can remember only happened about 6 weeks ago - I dislocated my shoulder.

I was out of work for one week because of a muscle contraction headache. It was far worse than a migraine. Simple over the counter drugs could never help it. I couldn't look at light and the faintest noise sounded like a jet plane's engine. Everything was spinning and my head felt like it was going to virtually implode. My blood pressure increased dramatically (201/117) and I had a seizure. My doctor kept me under close surveillance for fear of a brain aneurysm. I didn't eat for the entire week I was sick because I vomited from being so imbalanced. For nourishment, I was placed on intravenous fluids. Later, I was released on medication. Presently, I have to take Maxalt for the pain. I've had CAT scans, sleep studies, and other tests performed, but to no avail. Nothing seems to be a solution. I can gladly say, however, that I haven't felt pain like that since then, nor do I wish to endure it ever again.

My most painful moment I can remember only happened about 6 weeks ago - I dislocated my shoulder. I've seen the doctors on Casualty fix dislocated shoulders and it looks awful. Did it knack? Passion, that sounds awful. I feel a bit sick just reading it. Even a normal headache is bad enough, there's nothing you can do really to soothe it. Whenever I get one it's always in my temples although they're very mild and rare. Where was it? Your entire head?

I have a tendency to get a tad bit graphic. lol When one of these headaches occur, they usually start from the back of my head (occipital view). The pain then travels around to my frontal skull, or forehead. The pain is so agonizing, my vision is triggered as well, causing blurriness. This is why they are called muscle contraction headaches, being that the discomfort maneuvers in such a way as a contraction does. Speaking of which, I had one of these buggers this morning. I took my Maxalt to soothe the pain and took a long, relinquishing nap.

hmm... for me... this is kind of hard to guess when the most physical pain I went through was cause it seems I attract physical pain.
I would guess it's this one time me and my sis got into a fight and she pumled the life out of me. And then started kicking me in the back of the head... that happened... I think about around last winter. My little sister is quite athletically inclined too, so that didn't help much. I started it though. I flipped out and threw a cup at her. I am normally way more difficult to anger with childish insults than that, but I just snapped.

The worst physical pain I've ever been in has been through my eyes. From all I have seen in the news and in real life: the destruction of Hurricane Katrina and how she has ruined my family's life long accomplishments. Guess that should be classified as mental anguish. But anyway....
