I thought this one was called "The Gay Farewell". I could very easily be wrong. I always liked this one...

Most of the demos have two titles simply because no-one really knows what Kate had intended them to be called, people only guessed from the lyrics.
I can't say this is my favourite demo, but it's good. I really like the fact that it's about a gay relationship - she hadn't even released an album yet but she was already dealing with taboos in her songs. I think if this had been released at the time, it would have caused more outrage than it had now. Then again, "Kashka" was released, but I think that was a lot more subtle than this song.
I just think it's Kate's way of saying, they're in a normal relationship, with love and break-ups and everything else that straight couples go through. Maybe one day everyone will be able to appreciate this view! It's quite topical at the moment really with all the commotion over the appointment of gay figures in the church being given top posts in the US and UK at the moment (although only the former looks like it's going ahead).......

I thought the same thing you do. I'm guessing this is why she didn't release it.

The Gay FarewellEddie / Queen Eddie / Eddie The Queen(Written by Kate Bush) [The Phoenix Recordings, Demo, 1976] I've never seen Such a sad queen As Eddie. I've seen him raving, Maybe even in pain, But never Weeping like a baby. On Saturday afternoon He was really fine to him. But on Saturday evening, Oh, well Eddie was so pretty. But now his boy is leaving. Hey, boy, you're so young To be a queen weeping. You're just a little princess. Oh, Eddie, don't! Cause what can I do But listen to you tell your story? On Saturday afternoon He was really fine to him. But on Saturday evening, Oh, well Eddie was so pretty. But now his boy is leaving. But now his boy is leaving. But now his boy is leaving him. Queenie, come home soon! Kate Bush Queen Eddiewww.youtube.com/watch?v=lRVu8flVQSo
