This song is available on a compilation "Christmas' album. But some of the other tracks in the box set are more rare. I would like to see "TWW" disc one and two available seperately. My stuff wears out one at a time, not as a set. EMI..take notes here. While you're at it. Release all the videos on DVD! ;D

While you're at it. Release all the videos on DVD! ;D Or at the very least, release SOMETHING dammit! I love this song. Doesn't it just sound really warm and perfect at Christmas? Kate can pull off a song as thought-provoking and hard-hitting as "Breathing" and then a Christmas track equally well. Doesn't that tell you something about her songwriting ability?

;D I also love this song. I'm a December child so always treat my self to a play or two on my birthday. I always listen to it on it's own cheerful sounding, upbeat merit...
but...
I sometimes wonder if the song is a bit tongue in cheek, I mean, December WILL be magic again if all these wonderful things that remind me of happier times come along...December WILL be magic again when the snow comes and makes everything look pretty and sparkly and 'cover(s) the muck up'...but until all these things happen then perhaps December is just another cold winter month.
...just tryin' to make you all think...
Best wishes and all the love
MM

Does anyone know why she's slightly changed the lyrics in two versions of this song? These two versions being:
* "December will be magic again" * "December will be here, that magic again"
Any reason for that does any one know?

It's a delightful song, but usually much ignored at Xmas time unfortunately. I don't recall a single airplay during that last yuletide season. Ok, it wasn't a huge seller, so it's never going to compete with the likes of Slade and Wizzard, but even just a couple of plays would have been nice. I love that it is so thoughtful and has a slightly different twist to the usual Xmas themes.
My other big festive favourite is the Pogues/Kirsty McColl's (God bless her) Fairytale of New York. A great song and a nice bit of Irish/American social history. A great essay on disappointment and disillusionment.
What endlessly repeating Xmas songs do our US friends have to deal with at that time of the year?

It's almost the time to start listening to seasonal music once again. The two 'Kate' Christmas tunes, this one and ''Home for Christmas'' would go well with the two seasonal albums by Loreena McKennitt, mentioned by Grimm in a previous thread.

I'm getting ready to dust of the old holiday collection already! Actually, I have made the new list of holiday music to purchase from Amazon, and it looks like I had to narrow it down to only 7 new only this year, if I'm going to my all the holiday DVDs I want! Just when I think there aren't anymore to buy! ;D I did find one that will mix really well with the McKennitt ones, I think it's called Ancient Noels. I'll find a link for you, if you're interested, Al... maybe you'll like it. Here it is: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000003JLM/ref=pd_bxgy_text_1/104-0851881-7777549?v=glance&s=music&st=*Telll me what you think. Oh, has an idea! ::a door closes, steps are heard as Zan walks to another room on the board:: ;D

I believe the version of "December" on TWW CD is different from the one on the Moments Of Pleasure CD single. One is shorter?
And of course, there's the bongo version...

The version that appears on the TWW CD is basically the original version as appeared on the original 7", whereas the version on the MOP single is a remix. The guitars are more 'upfront' in the mix, and the track fades out a few seconds shorter. (The original mix fades with the jingly things, after the guitar has ended, yet the remix fades during the ending guitar riff - cutting short of the jingly whatsits at the end.)

I don't listen to this song until after Halloween. It's a bit like seeing the lights and decorations through the summer. Some things are just better enjoyed during the holiday season.

Speaking of holiday season, it's already mid-July and some stores in the Mall don't have their Christmas decorations up yet! What's with these slackers?
