We're all alone on the stage tonight We've been told we're not afraid of you We know all our lines so well, uh-huh We've said them so many times Time and time again Line and line again
Ooh, yeah, you're amazing We think you're incredible You say we're fantastic But still we don't head the bill
Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Unbelievable! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Unbelievable!
When the actor reaches his death You know it's not for real. He just holds his breath But he always dives too soon, too fast to save himself
He'll never make the screen He'll never make the 'Sweeney' Be that movie queen He's too busy hitting the vaseline
Ooh, yeah, you're amazing We think you are really cool We'd give you a part, my love But you'd have to play the fool
Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Unbelievable! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Unbelievable!
We're all alone on the stage tonight We're all alone On the stage Tonight

To start the discussion here, can anyone answer these trivia question:
1) What video game features this as one of the radio selections?
2) Why was this video banned at one point?
3) What did Kate use to lower her voice before recording?

the answers to the trivia questions:
1.gta:vice city. 2.the video was banned because of kates pat on the bum gesture during the vaseline line. i understood that it was actually banned by top of the pops who were a little objective about references to homosexual activity. 3.not sure about this one.did she just pitch down the tape?

It has been reported that she would drink milk before recording to reach a bit deeper.

The thickening effect creates viscosity that slows the frequency rate of the vocal chords, or so I'm told..

Surprised to hear 'Wow"pop up on my brother's Vice City game. It's an odd musical accompaniment when committing mass auto crimes...

I agree Chris. Yes, totally out of place.. What were the game developers thinking of?

I agree Chris. Yes, totally out of place.. What were the game developers thinking of? But it sure is a hoot to have playing on the radio when your launching your car over a building. Particularly during the chorus. Quite surreal in a way ;D

Anyone know what word Kate whispers just as the song starts?!
I've heard it is "Emily"
I've heard it is "Ennui"
If it is "Emily" what the heck does that reference?
"Ennui" is ironic in relation to the title and makes sense in that context...
Ideas? Knowledge?
Thanks!

Hmm, I never noticed that before. Had to give it another listen, but there is a bit that sounds quite like "Emily" to me. Welcome, BTW.
