Will all this new album talk and it becoming more real than ever now, I think we should all get our heads together and make this forum look at it's absolute best for that time. As I do expect bus loads to be searching for Kate stuff (not necessarily this forum) but we want ours to stand out and so that we're irrisistable to visitors. Please post any images, ideas or colour schemes in this thread and we can all comment on them. For images I don't just mean our banner. We'll need some better avatars and something to replace these too on the main page: What do you's all think?

Err, is it snowing on this Forum, or is my new monitor on the blink??!! Nice effect Lori.. I like the Forum this way, but I'll think about some usable post xmas images to use next year and in the countdown to the new album. Meanwhile, here's a few more xmas decorations I used earlier this year. Use them if you want or not, whatever..

Your aerobic Santa may have hit his target weight. But those pelvic thrusts just ruin it for me. ;D

It sounds like you are talking mainly about decor, but since we have to get folks here before they can appreciate the decor...
How about a "Kate Goodies" thread where we could post links to things like ringtones, screensavers, desktops/wallpaper, a printable calendar (someone propsed this idea a month or two ago on another thread), etc.
I think I remember seeing a "links" thread here, but can't remember where or what it included. If the board already has a thread with items similar to those I described above, maybe associated keywords could be added to the metadata for that thread. That might get us more visits from people using search engines to locate these types of items, and maybe some of the vistors will be interested in sticking around to participate.
Also... In general, I think that adding some well-chosen keywords to the metadata for each thread might increase the amount of traffic we get.

I have often suggested that we have more keyword triggers for new guests. When you search (Yahoo and Google, at least, with "Top Kate Bush Forum" or "Kate Bush New Album" (and a few others) we come up #1 or 2. In fact a "Kate Bush Sensual World" keyword search puts us first AND ahead of the album itself. But a few more prompts would help. I have for example started a thread with ''Kate Bush New Album 2005" for this very reason. We do have a ''Links" thread, as you mentioned. It is on the ''Other Topics" board and designated as a ''sticky'' thread.

Here is another suggestion related to showing visitors how much TSWOKB has to offer:
When I do a Google search on "Kate Bush" and "Moments of Pleasure", the seventh reference returned links to TSWOKB. However, it links to the board called "Moments of Pleasure" (which is actually not about the song of the same name) rather than the "Moments of Pleasure" thread on the "Red Shoes" board.
Chances are that anyone who does this same Google search will be looking for info about the song rather than the kind of info that is on the "Moments of Pleasure" board.
With the above in mind... Could we put a sticky at the top of the "Moments of Pleasure" board that would contain a link to the "Moments of Pleasure" thread on the "Red Shoes" board? That way when people interested in that specific song end up on the "Moments of Pleasure" board, we can give them what they came for (info about the song) and more!
This same suggestion applies to any of the other boards that have song titles in their names.

Good idea. Lori, would you mind making that happen?

I don't understand. Why would making it sticky make a difference?

Thanks Matanchik. I think they stand out more so it's more clear where there are new topics.
