Does this sound like anyone else's idea of a great weekend? Sounds like a blast to me!

Look Sven you said you'd never tell. Bitch. Here's the point, and we can put this to bed......... Context. I was not offended by this post. Nor was Adey at my last response to him. We flip each other off or just speak our minds. I love that about this forum. Do you guys want to walk on pins and needles.... I don't. Please give benefit of the doubt. I feel ostricized for no good reason. But, again there is a social dynamic in play here. Do I conform, or do you let me express myself? It troubles me most to be mis-understood AND ignored.

I'm with Sven on this one - I hope I know him well enough to say that he is no misogynyst nor is he unnecessarily vulgar.
But I really do think Sheila's point has merit - it is so easy to misunderstand or misinterpret a comment on this forum, when there is no facial expression or body language to confirm the interpretation. Especially when it's from someone as 'challenging' as Sven (no offence intended).
Words are all we have here. We know this and generally use them wisely - but occasionally they let us down. Sven is not the first person here to comment that his words were misunderstood or were inadequate to explain his intentions.

I suppose I'll add my two cents, for what it's worth. Nor am I offended (anymore) by either Al, Sven or Adey. I think we have come to understand one another and I, for one, don't want to stifle myself on "pins & needles" as Sven points out. I have expressed to Al (do you remember?) that I have no interest in harboring bad feelings and will try to address a situation directly if I do feel offended. This would be my attempt (probably in PM format) to resolve the situation before anymore harsh words/insults are posted, and all feelings are understood. I'm with Sven on this one - I hope I know him well enough to say that he is no misogynyst nor is he unnecessarily vulgar. And as a woman, I also agree. Most of the time, I appreciate his directness and humor. Occasionally he has been a little harsh, but then maybe we all have in working out our character and defending our opinions. His humor can be off-color, but that's some his charm . Sven, I think you'd appreciate someone's opinion if they truly felt offended by something you had posted, correct? And you'd want to right the situation? But I really do think Sheila's point has merit - it is so easy to misunderstand or misinterpret a comment on this forum, when there is no facial expression or body language to confirm the interpretation. Especially when it's from someone as 'challenging' as Sven (no offence intended). Words are all we have here. We know this and generally use them wisely - but occasionally they let us down. Sven is not the first person here to comment that his words were misunderstood or were inadequate to explain his intentions. Here, here to that last statement. I, myself have been subject to extreme misinterpretation and harsh unnecessary criticism. I had felt comfortable with myself and my sarcasm, but I am certain to be aware of how my teasing is taken. I hope I am doing well. I think I mentioned us only having "words" before and emoticons (as silly as they are) are of necessary importance. To not attack Sven only, I will say each of us have all made remarks without clarifying our tone, and also felt offended by the others at times. "Let he who is without sin...." you know the rest. Mainly, aside from our words, all we have is our directness. If you have been offended, speak out and air your feelings. Not here, mind you, but in EX4 or PM's. Personally, I tire of our politics being the only posts around here at times.

I suppose I'll add my two cents, for what it's worth. Well I got more than my money's worth. Your comments were well thought out and appreciated. Correct. As harsh and provocative as I try to be, Sven hides behind a facade. I am not nearly as brash in my daily life. However, as my character has developed, I would be uncomfortable with not allowing him to grow, i.e., have some humanity and acceptance. However Sven has been useful and interesting. (Al's one man steering committee ) Just look how much reflection, and discussion has been squeezed out of a little 'color' Agree. Although I rather enjoy the politics sometimes, but you're right - it can get tedious.

Well I got more than my money's worth. Your comments were well thought out and appreciated. I suppose we seem to get along pretty well. And I think you're the only one who thought so (about the above). Thanks Sven. At least I hope we worked something out after all.
