1) 'Running Up That Hill', "This Woman's Work" version. Very sililar to the original, just an extended version really and been juggled about a bit. I love it though! 2) 'Something Good' Utah Saints I can't stand this one. Far too repetitive and too agressive at times. 3) 'Cloudbusting' 2002 White label dance mix Will have to check this one out 4) 'RUTH' from "The Hounds of Love" As the version from 'TWW'. 5) 'Be Kind to My Mistakes' from "This Woman's Work" I don't really come across this song too much. Must change that pattern 'cos it's a brill track!! * 'RUTH' by Within Temptation This makes me mad Speaking of jived up versions and lots of 'RUTH's'. Have you heard the jived up version with David Gimour? AMAZING!!! My fave version of it!!!

"Beams" was fantastic. I liked it a lot! I downloaded the sample of "Solitude" too and it's rather beautiful - I'm going to listen to the others later on!
"Battersea" was very interesting, probably not the music I'd usually listen to. It was good all the same, with a strong beat.
"Running Up That Hill" is just a classic. What more can I say about it?
"Glory Box" - I listened to the studio version as I couldn't find the live one. I liked it a lot - it had a very heavy atmosphere and her voice was unusual. It got a little loud towards the end of the clip though, but I think that was just the clip playing up!
"Be Kind To My Mistakes" is such a great song. I think it would have fit in very well on "Hounds Of Love", as track 7 before The Ninth Wave (with Under The Ivy as track 6, of course!) A very unusual beat and interesting beat.
"Rubberband Girl" - I've been curious to find out whether people actually did the arm swaying around the head that Kate does in the video when this song came out?? ;D
I think this week's playlist has shown that there is so much music out there that we haven't yet discovered, just waiting to be heard. I'd like to thank you, Al', for giving us a source from which to find some of these songs! Are you going to comment on the songs, Al'? I'd be interested to hear your views!

Thank you Sto' I am truly glad you took time to investigate the playlist. I also like your suggestions and those of others. I will start commenting more on the playlists just before the next one's are posted. Everyone's else's opinion should be heard before mine. The fact that I suggest a track is evidence of my appretiation of it. I may not always care for the genre or certain aspects of the songs; but I always admire the talent and most often the feelings the music evokes from me. It is late in the week so here goes. The songs on this weeks list take me through various moods. The Kate songs are always inspirational to me. If not for her, I would not have branched out to more varied types of music. *Portishead and Hooverphonic can take me to a darker and often morose place. * Agatsuma reminds me how western influences can be translated and yet that we are not always the trend setters. As the line from Steely Dan's "Aja" says-"Angular bangoes sound good to me" (more specifically Tsugaru-Shamisen) It is elitiest to assume that we are always the 'best' *The 'Instinctive Traveler' remix from Putumayo's "World Lounge" takes me to a whole new place- a vital mix that makes me feel like a contented world citizen. *AfroCelts takes me back to primal roots and carries me through an evolution. The "Seeds" album is a marvel of team collaboration and spot on muscianship, I love it. In closing I was going for an atmospheric roller-coaster that can get you high on the music alone- 'Trip-hop', 'Ambient', 'Club', 'World', whatever you want to call it. A good sound system and the right soundtrack can make you 'at one with your universe' (or at least with your recliner )
