but I'm more of a "Pele"/"Choirgirl"/"Beekeeper" man myself i would never mention pele and choirgirl together with the beekeeper. TBK is a total sell-out. it features some great songs but it's too mainstream for me

Capitol Radio's compilation of modern and traditional blues songs.
As you would expect, a combination of the brilliant and the contractually obliged..
Highlights include Gary Moore/BB king - Since I Met You Baby, Nina Simone - Gin House Blues, Robert Cray - Smoking Gun and Smokestack Lightning by whatsit.

I just listened to 'Smokestack Lightning' (early Yardbirds rendition) in my car. Love Robert Cray - say him live last summer. 'Nina Simone - Good choices.

Wow, I haven't bought an album in ages. I believe the last one though was Cirque Du Soleil - Nouvelle Experience.

"Trans-Global Underground'' 'impossible broadcasting''Heard snippets on PRI today plus commentary. Two tracks feature the [glow=red,2,300]'Trio Bulgarka'[/glow] This was enough for me to stop and buy it today. 'Been listening for the past hour or so. If you need a Kate-fix, you will surely get a reminiscent feeling from their contributions here. They sound glorious. Track 7 'Isis K' is the best of the CD. Therein you are reminded of their work on the 'Sensual World' I got the same vibe as from ''Rocket's Tail''. Also, it seems to me, that they have stylistically emulated Kate at the song's terminus (ref. ''Wedding List'' specifically how the volume is raised and cut off at the crescendo). Half of this album make it worth the price. It is indescribably eclectic. If you like rhythm, percussion mid-eastern strings reggae, and tight musicianship - you'll love this album. Look in the 'World Music' section, if you're interested in purchase or go on-line. You can find samples @ Yahoo and Amazon with a keyword search as well.

Sounds interesting - I've often thought to seek out some Trio Bulgarka 'in their own right' recordings but didn't know what - if anything - was available. In truth, I hadn't made much of an effort..
I have the impression that the Trio have worked with Kate for a long time - but of course it was just 2 albums. Some of them were getting on a bit, I wonder if it's the same line up?

So, I'm guessing that you like Nightwish then ?
I have to confess my ignorance here - never heard them..
(Or Sins of Thy Beloved, for that matter)
Alice Cooper now, yes that rings a bell.. Poison - great riff.

Poison - great riff. To be honest, I had only heard a couple of Nightwish tracks but decided to buy their back catologue. Sin Of Thy Beloved.... Never heard ANYTHING by them but still bought both of their albums and am enjoying them

So, I'm guessing that you like Nightwish then ? I have to confess my ignorance here - never heard them.. I've been obsessed with Nightwish for about 18 months now; Tarja Turunen (armed with a degree in classical voice which she managed to earn between touring & recording) may be the best female singer out there. If you're interested, their discography is as follows from first to last: Angels Fall First Oceanborn Wishmaster Over The Hills And Far Away(EP) Century Child Once ...with various DVDs and one best-of strewn in there. The best two are the last two...but I'd say start with "Wishmaster" and work your way out towards the ends. On topic, the last three albums I've purchased are as follows: "Disco Heaven 01.04"- A Hed Kandi Records house-music comp; Hed Kandi has the best quality control of any label. "With Teeth"- Nine Inch Nails; absolutely incredible- I've played it straight through at least a dozen times since I bought it last Friday and it's markedly better each time. "Grievous Angel"- Grievous Angel; an excellent album by a fantastic local alt-country band. ...that's it for now... blessed be.
