They look down At the ground Missing But I never go in now
I'm looking at the Big Sky I'm looking at the Big Sky now I'm looking at the Big Sky You never really understood me You never really tried
That cloud, that cloud Looks like Ireland C'mon and blow it a kiss now But quick
'Cause it's changing in the Big Sky It's changing in the Big Sky now We're looking at the Big Sky You never understood me You never really tried
This cloud, this cloud Says "Noah, C'mon and build me an Ark" And if you're coming, jump 'Cause
We're leaving with the Big Sky We're leaving with the Big Sky And we pause for the jets hup! hup! - in the Big Sky! You want my reply? What was the question? I was looking at the Big Sky
Tell 'em, sisters!
"Rolling over like a great big cloud Rolling over with the Big Sky! Rolling over like a great big cloud Rolling over with the Big Sky!

Like all Kate albums from The Dreaming on, it took me a few listens to get into Hounds of Love. However, this song grabbed me from the first listen, and it's still one of my all-time favorite Kate songs. Also, it's one of the very few Kate songs where I also love the 12" remix. The video is also my third favorite Kate video (after Cloudbusting and Experiment IV).
All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about this song, which is a rarity for me!

Also, it's one of the very few Kate songs where I also love the 12" remix. I also love this song... one where Kate really cuts loose and seems to have great fun with the vocal. And, for me, probably the only 12" remix that is really worth while. I've heard Jeremy Irons is somewhere in this video. Anyone seen him?

I did not know that. I did a google, and according to IMDb, he is indeed there. I have no idea where.
Also, I was going to say it's the only 12" remix I like, too, but then I remembered I love the one for Cloudbusting, too.

But this is my favorite remix, not just of Kate, but of any I have heard.

Don't recall seeing Mr Irons, either.
It's a great song and a great video. Joyfull & infectious, always makes me smile. Should be in the soundtrack of psychiatric hospitals everywhere..

This is actually my favourite Kate Bush video. It's really a joyful thing to watch, it looks like Kate and all the crew had a good time making it. I can't spot Jeremy Irons anywhere but I did spot her brother Paddy playing didgeridoo and a couple of cardboard giraffes in the background - what's all that about!?

Paddy, it seems has always had a hand in the props and the unusual influences. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, he designed the giant violins for Kate's live performance video of "Violin" hereI've not seen Irons either. Seems no one has. I am relying on memory though. Also let me think about why giraffes are relevant here.

Could the reason why the giraffe's are in the video have anything to with the fact that they have long necks that reach upwards into the sky? Some kind of metaphor?

Am I alone in thinking that Paddy's digeridu playing on the LP (and single mix) is mixed to far back, and is just too inaudible? You can hear it quite clearly on the extended mix, it starts it off! Yet it's virtually not there on the original mix, despite it being listed in the liner notes of the CD/LP etc.

Lyrically I love this song but the music, although I like it, is not my favorite Kate song. But all I ever DO is stare at the big sky! What was the question? They stare down at the ground, missing.
